Though I'm not sure of his thoughts, I get the feeling that someone with metal manufacturing capabilities might be able to form a partnership with him that involved sharing the profits (thereby making his many hours working with the fonts worth his while). He had printed them in plastic as well, but they were fragile and easily broken. With the later style, when it came to creating them in metal the multi-level work involved (with the slanted, beveled letters with the sunken connector line) proved to be an issue. It sounds like he had completely redrawn and digitized both the old and later style fonts (he wasn't using the readily available "Transporter" font from what I understood).time consuming work and I think because of that he wasn't ready to just hand over the files as some off-shore producer had wanted him to. Interesting update: I actually had a chance to talk with Casey on the phone today - super nice guy who knows his stuff! I got the feeling that the main reason he's no longer able to reproduce the emblems is because he lost easy access to his laser cutting setup, and when pricing out the emblems from a third party producer the cost/required quantities were too high (especially for custom one-offs).
